May 7th 2013, Tuesday
I had a very sweet and tight sleep on my bed, received morning call at 5.45 am. Ahh so early.. I think I fell asleep again if I’m not wrong. After wake up, take a shower then having my first breakfast buffet in the hotel. Wow, so many food and so many people!! All people are the agent of Prudential! Back to the food – I think the hotel has adjusted the food into Asian food, because I know that Indonesia people are very selective (picky) in eating food and beverages. The hotel serves Salad, Cereal, Tapa, Pasta, Pie, Cakes & Cookies, Bread etc. I love the salad, various ingredient & fresh vegetables also salmon, yummy! but I don’t know how to mix it and I made it too salty.. to much olive oil ??? I ate almost everything..
After breakfast, we gathered at the hotel lobby. This time we will regroup based on the travel bus. I’m with bus 36 with Mr. Paulus Singgih as the Tour Leader. First destination today is Spanish Village (El Poble Espanyol), they said it is the miniature city of Spanish, as the comparison in Indonesia is Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. The miniature city/building has a great architeture design. What will we doing here ? We will create a history in Europe.
All the Prudential agents are gathering here, it’s THOUSAND! On the main field of Spanish Village. There’s a big stage in front led by MC. They tried to line up the people.. but it’s hard.. so many people and the sun was so bright and hot. They hid under the shadow and some of them busy taking pictures first. Somehow I felt they’re so spoiled. Show must go on! What is the show ? Prudential will create a history – Making MURI Record “The Most People Dancing Tor-tor Indonesia Traditional dance in Europe.” That’s why Prudential provided us an ULOS. Ulos is the traditional cloth of the Batak people of North Sumatra. I love it! We wore it on our shoulder, on position – Pray pose hands, then we started dancing together in harmony led by the original Batak people who living in Barcelona.. Thousand people dancing together.. I’m proud! Glad to join and brought Indonesia culture and heritage in Europe. Being part of making history – MURI.
After the dance, It’s a FREE time to explore the Spanish Village. Short history about this place has been built for Barcelona International Exhibition since 1929, They said after the exhibition is over, this place supposed to be destroyed. But This place is so beautiful and has a lot of positive impact, so they keep this place. It’s about 1600 model of ‘mini village’ building in here, all has a nice architecture and decorative style. You’re gonna love every single building you see.
A lot of shops & Cafe here, we can buy chocolate, cookies, souvenirs, painting, sculptures, art and craft etc here… The people also friendly. This place is very romantic! Very nice choice if we go with our lover, and take a pictures for Pre wed.. I love it! Every corners is beautiful. Classic~
I love the art and craft of Barcelona (Spanish), detail and colorful in various style – Modern and Traditional. The signature style is Gaudi style that used colorful element on the artwork – mosaic style. Some artwork seem very vintage/antique. I wish I can buy them all, too bad no space available to place them all. You can see they’re so pretty if we put them together.. aren’t they ?
I almost left by the bus because busy taking pictures.. haha! It’s time for lunch! We went to Port Olympic again. Now they took us to the local restaurant near the beach – El Tinglado • Monchos – Tapas & Restaurant. The restaurant is big, 2 blocks building with blue banners.. It’s a seafood restaurant I guess.. We will eat local food here, they serve (I don’t know the exact name): Egg Rolls, Potato Ball with meat filling, Salad, Tomato bread (?), Fish steak, Cake. Overall the foods are nice, I can eat them.. (the tomato bread is kinda hard like plastic).. Some people can’t eat.. They even brought Rendang and Rice for lunch all the way from Indonesia. They shared it together. I love the Salad, very nice.. I think they use turkey and eel for the topping, vegetable so fresh, probably the best salad I ever eat. The Fish steak is delicious, but wer’e guessing what is the fish? It didn’t taste like carp, dory or salmon. It’s tender and delicious. We asked.. it’s Swordfish! Wow, first time ate a swordfish steak.. good taste! Finish with a desserts – Chocolate cake, yummy!
This is what we do after having lunch, yeah! Take pictures as much as we can at the BEACH! It’s hot sunny day but windy.. I love beach.. love the blue sea and the blue sky.. wish I can swim.. but the beach kinda seem like desert haha.. no palm tree, not look like a tropical beach like Hawaii.
After lunch, we will go to the Barcelona Heritage place – Park Guell or we can say Park of Gaudi. I don’t know the detail but Gaudi is a great artist who involved with the Art Nouveau style. Art Nouveau is one of the greatest art style that using the curvy, wavy and floral element. In Park Guell, the local tour guide explain to us that Gaudi used to lived here.. He designed his house and garden with no straight line, all is curvy and acymmetric, so it’s kinda seem surreal and like in the fairy tale. His style is like using a lot pieces of broken colored glasses or rock and attached them into an artwork and even the cave, pillar, ceiling, wall, stair, fences. Seem like mosaic. I saw this style a long time ago and I just knew where is it came from now.
The special spot here is the Water Dragon (Salamander) called El Drac statue and the churches. El drac is a signature or symbol of Barcelona city. Despite as a symbol, El Drac also has a functional as irrigation with the water that flowing from the mouth. They say the water is pure and we can drink it for treatment, but now it’s not flowing.. ~sigh. A lot of people take picture here.. It’s hard to get picture here.. so crowded.
Just a short trip here, we have to go to another place.. I think this is the time for the ladies to go crazy – It’s shopping time! We will go to the shopping district – La Rambla. I feel a different atmosphere here.. A lot of shop with nice architecture along the street, It has a big main street and central park, theatre, also cafe and restaurant. There’s a lot of branded store here, If you have a lot of money.. you can shop until you drop! Fashion, bags, Souvenirs… It’s a nice weather to walk along the street and watching historical and beautiful building around, Art and the lifestyle of Barcelona people. We’re as the tourists got a priviledge 10% discount to shop at the famous department store, El Corte Ingles’ and also a welcome snack: Tapa & a glass of Red Wine… ♥♥
Tapas are a wide variety of appetizers, or snacks, in Spanish cuisine. Somehow I think it’s like baked pasta with egg. Eat Tapas serves with Red wine.. you knew I love red wine.. It’s perfect. Relax and looking to the park.. I feel so lucky to enjoy this moment..
I walked along the street, saw people sitting on the bench, jogging, walk with their pet, I feel nice. I bought some magnet souvenirs – various design, made me hard to choose haha. Sometime I took picture of the nice building, and I looooveeee the park! Wide open space with flowers, fountain and a lot of pigeon! I love the pigeons.. you can see how I’m excited with birds at my previous blog when I was in Kuala Lumpur.. Too bad now I’m alone.. so It’s hard to take a picture with birds. So happy to be here. I wish Jakarta also has this kind of park in the city… We have free time to walk, hang out, eat and shopping until 8 pm. Back to the hotel and rest.. Tommorow is a new day.
I’ve been to Malaysia when I was a kid (maybe 11 year old) with my family, I remember we went to Kuala Lumpur (KL) & Genting, kinda forget about the memories/moments of this trip. The 2nd time was in the high school study tour from Penang to Malaka then KL. The 3rd time was with my sisters in Penang then Hatyai (Thailand) after I finish my college. All was fun and well organized. I wish I can go there again by myself.
From the last Les Mills Quarterly Workshop (QWS) II – 2012 in Jakarta, the presenters announced that Gandalf Archer (G), the Bodyjam® Program Director will come to Asia for QWS III – 2012. He will go to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Singapore and Manila (Philippine). Too bad he’s not going to Jakarta 😦 . So I decided to go to KL! This time on my own.
Had a little hard time to prepare, like asking for office leave for about a week, then searching the best price for the ticket. Then this is it! I bought Tiger Airway ticket, the date August 23rd – 28th, 2012! Yay !! It’s gonna be super fun! Great QWS with G! and also gonna meet my 2 brothers from KL, Michael Wong (Koko) & Osman Sany (Abang), they’re a very good friends of mine and very kind. We knew each other because of Fitness First background and we’ve traveled together at Bandung 2-3 years ago. That was fun.
I told Abang that I’ll go to KL for QWS III, he’s happy. Then he suggested me to make something for G, “How about you design a T shirt?” yay! That’s a great idea! Then we collaborate together to create a nice design for the T-shirt. Need some progress to make it easy to print, affordable and better. And Voila!
- Earlier Concept – Brainstorming idea
- OM’G’ Concept – Abang gave the concept/idea
- Advance OM’G’ Concept – nice multi color but harder to print on shirt and expensive cost
Abang gonna produce the OM’G’ T shirt for members/participants. He will produce 2 type of shirt – Cotton for only RM 30 and Dry Fit for only RM 35. We hope they gonna wear it at QWS III – 2012 or OM’G’ Party. Abang said the sales is like selling HOT CAKES! SOLD OUT !!
One day, I saw on Abang’s facebook photo, there’s an event poster. OM’G’ Party that will be held at August 28th, 2012 – Tuesday. It’s G’s party in the Neverland club! It’s gonna be super awesome… Ahh my trip’s date end exactly on that day. NOOOO!!! I wanna join the party. Abang asked me to extend the trip/date, he also will extend his leave. All right!!! I extend my date with an extra exchange fee, no regret! I want! I want! My trip’s date exchange into August 23rd – 31st, 2012 (9 days!!!!), my boss’s gonna kill me..
(Continue to Part II)
I’m having my 28th Birthday this year and I decided to make an artwork for myself.
Here it is 😀
It’s a GREAT time for living in this World with family and friends.
I’m thankful for what I’m had and receiving especially the people who loves me.
I’m thankful for my talents of drawing, sketching, dancing etc that make my life so happy and beautiful.
God Bless Everyone..
This is the 2nd Pre Wedding album / slideshow of my brother (Benny) and his wife (Dewi). This time they used casual attire and photographed by their friend, Herry. They chose yellow shirt and short pants which I think is a good choice, Yellow is a bright color with a happy mood, all the photo seem very vibrant and cheerful. They look more relax, a lot of emotions ( I love it) and natural expressions + gestures + poses.
They took a different places such as restaurant, park, temple, car, garden and playground. Ordinary place with ordinary exterior / interior. And using some items around them (such as broom). But I don’t feel the photos are bad, they’re all good! It’s all because the emotion inside it. They act just the way they are (I always love to see my brother’s silliness).
Enjoy the photo.. (33 photos)
Pre Wedding Photo of my little brother, Benny and his wife, Dewi. Photo by his friend, Herry. I love every single of their photo.. They did it at the street and it was BRAVE for them both! Very unique. I always smile when I see their expression, so natural and lovely. There’s a lot of … Continue reading
Lydia Chua is a member of Fitness First Pluit Village (FFPV) and a regular member of Bodyjam® class of mine and Anthony Kesuma. She’s our friend. She’s a healthy (fat) woman, very friendly, funny and adorable. With all those combinations, Anthony gave her a nickname N’DORO. That’s a very cute fatty name in my opinion. I don’t know about the detail, but they said N’DORO is a character of Java, a fat woman. We always describe Lydia (N’DORO) as a fat friendly javanese Goddess with her flying scarf. We adore and asking her blessing. She has no problem with that.
She’s having her birthday. Evelyn (Jun Ki) Widjaya is a very active friend that always organize a birthday party for us. She suggested to make a special and unique party for N’DORO. Her idea: Not using Birthday cake, because it’s so common and ordinary. So, we gonna use TUMPENG*. Tumpeng is a cone-shaped rice dish like mountain with its side dishes, traditionally featured in the slamatan ceremony and to express gratitude to God, appreciate togetherness and harmony. It’s a GREAT idea.
We prepared a week before the celebration, Me, Debby, Jessy and Jun Ki are the committee of N’DORO Birthday Party. Had a hard time at the start especially searching the Best Tumpeng. Fortunately, Jessy’s Mom can make it, She gave us the tester, It’s good and the price is affordable. We discussed a lot to make it special. We will held the party in N’DORO house, Jun Ki has asked permission with her dad, had planning a scenario to bait her out. Meanwhile, Jun Ki will make Jelly or Pudding and Debby will buy a Watermelon, They’re so thoughtful.
Here’s come the day, Saturday – 30th June 2012. What did I do ? I made some mustaches from photo paper, my idea is PAK RADEN, a popular character from Indonesia children TV series, doll story, UNYIL*. Pak Raden represents a hard working man with a rugged face and strong Javanese background who always wears a traditional Javanese suit. It suited our birthday party theme. I hope everyone will attach the mustaches, including the girls. They will be cute and ridiculously funny.
After work, I went to FFPV. They’re still Bodyjamming in the class with Anthony. After finish, Jun Ki gave me her handmade N’DORO birthday card for me to write a greeting and draw an illustration on the cover. I drew N’DORO with Javanese blouse (kebaya) and scarf holding the tumpeng with some birthday celebration minions. It’s cute.. I love it!
Now, we have a short time to prepare without her notice. Anthony and the rest will stay with N’doro at FFPV with scenario while the committee sneaking out. We have a great mission. I target Junki that we must finish in 1 hour. Along the way, I teased Jun Ki by whistling and singing the Mission Impossible theme song and warn her “You have 30 minutes..” (using Red Alert like sound) It’s intense!! We went to Jakarta Buah, to buy Fresh Watermelon, suppose to be quick but we buy some snacks to eat.
Heading to the Jessy’s house to take the Tumpeng. Wah! The Tumpeng is BIG and Heavy (about 5 kg), really great! Mission Complete !! We reached N’DORO house, her father help us prepare. We start to set the Debby’s floor mat and open the Tumpeng, so nice! Love the color combination and composition. The side dishes are Tempe Oreg, Kentang Sambal, Telur Bulat Sambal, Ayam Goreng, Sayur Urap.
I asked debby to bring Sarung and Peci (cap), I’m gonna be a birthday clown but this time with Pak Raden costume. I put on the mustache, sarung and peci, voila! I’m freakin’ ridiculous! Then I asked Jun Ki, Debby and Jessy to put on the mustache. They like it and take some pictures. Had a mustache, Like a Sir!
Now we’re giving signal to Anthony that we’re ready. We asked her dad to call her to come home soon. Evelyn (Epe) was coming alone, then follow by Maretha Dian (Mami). Unfortunately the timing when mami come wasn’t right! Anthony and the team reached at the same time. So, N’DORO has noticed the surprise.
We locked the door, sitting down in position.. ready! OPEN!! “HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYY !!!!!” She laughed the mustaches!! She surprised the Tumpeng!! We sing together and greet our Goddess! I gave them the mustaches, include N’DORO. They all put them on (I’m happy), They all look ridiculously cuteeee! Especially the girls, they look like a man! MACHO!! We took a lot of picture. This is FUN!!
Then it’s time to cut the Tumpeng. First, N’DORO make a wish then using the rice spoon cut the top of the cone. Giving the first plate to her father. Then It’s our turns, we posed like asking for blessing from a Goddess. We kneeled and opened our hands, then N’DORO gave the food for us. I love this moment. We ate tumpeng, party, joke around and take pictures.
The next event is.. “egg breaking, showering and flouring” the Birthday Person. It’s a common act to ‘bully’ the birthday person without notice. The Birthday Person must not angry of this act. This act represents friendship, to create a good/bad memory in his/her most happy day. The other act is push him/her to the pool. We baited N’DORO to go outside of the house, asking about her dog. Then suddenly, Jun Ki break the egg on her head… N’DORO, “Aww” …..the egg is NOT BREAK ! then Jun Ki quickly break on her head 3 times and break the egg like making an omelette. N’DORO shouted, aha! That’s the signal, I rushed out and showered the Sprite Soda then Johan poured (throw) her with flour !! It’s BRUTAL !! What did she do ? She chased everybody, she waved her hair wildly so the egg yolk + flour splattering around. We hide in the house. Ha ha ha, everyone laughed.. Then we have to clean the mess… and play again.
N’DORO have to take a shower, we start to prepare the watermelon. The watermelon is so fresh, red, juicy and seedless. I always want to have a picture with watermelon, posing together with friends. The red color is fresh and contrast, eating the watermelon with different expression, It’ll make a cute picture. We ate it! YUMMY! So sweettt!! I love it…
After that, We’re sitting on the floor mat and playing game, a lot of laughs and cheers. Then one more food to serve, Jun Ki’s jelly. She made a white jelly with a “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” mold. It tastes sweet and fresh.
It’s 9 am, we ended the party. Giving hugs and kisses to our Goddess, N’DORO. Wishing her all the best and forgive us about the mess we made ha ha ha. Happy Birthday.
The Birthday Person: Lydia(N’DORO) Chua
The Guests: Dharma ‘Dee’ Putra, Anthony ‘Othonk’ Kesuma, Julius Satria, Johan Irawan, Evelyn (Jun Ki) Widjaja, Debby Armeiyanti, Evelyn (Epe) Shen, Marcellina Yenmi, Naomi Gracesuna, Jasheline ‘Jessy’ Kho, Maretha Dian

It’s April 30th, 2012 – Monday, The last day of April – Fajar’s Bodyjam® Last Class. We’re having class in Fitness First Taman Anggrek. He also did some Bodyjam® Last classes in another clubs. We all want to feel the moment with him before he leaves the stage.
We’re wearing colourful outfit and arrange a cool Bodyjam® playlist for the members. I did the first block and Fajar did the second block. The class is going well although there’s no mic. I feel great with it. The members have changed. A lot of new people don’t know who is Fajar, some of them might be the first and the last time join the Fajar class. But they seem happy and enjoy the class.
At the end of the class when Fajar’s presenting the last track (groove down) from Bodyjam® 40 (I don’t feel like dancin’- Scissor Sisters)-> he chose it on purpose grrr!, I gave him the surprise! Wah! I melted and face down on my knees, haha can’t help it, cried.. >Cough< >cough<
Fajar opened the gift, He’s happy! He loves it! I’m glad 😀 . All members come to the stage and greet him, wish him a good luck and asking him why he quits Bodyjam®. They’re now feeling close with fajar. We’re taking pictures together. I love to see all the happy faces.
Good luck, Fajar!
Fajar Kusumaputera is a Bodyjam® instructor of the 3rd generation in Fitness First Indonesia. He pass as trainee with Bodyjam® release 39 in 2007 and be a great superstar Bodyjam® instructor in Fitness First Indonesia.
For me he is a great role model in Bodyjam®, a great dancer, a leader, a cute and funny friend. When I’m in the part of Bodyjam® team. We shared in creativity to makes the Bodyjam® BOOM!! That was fun! And I like to ask his suggestions and critics on the Bodyjam® event (Example: The Bodyjam™ Musical and The Turbulence).
He is also my ex-Bodyjam™ Headteacher. I love to be part of Bodyjam® team together with him. All the fun and creativity that we’ve been through. Now he decided to resign as Bodyjam® Instructor that shocked the team. 😦
I think he has his personal reasons to decide it. He said he’ll keep dancing with us but not as instructor.. April 2012 is his last month of teaching, his 5 years career of Bodyjam®. From Bodyjam® 39 to Bodyjam® 60.
Days before the end of April 2012, suddenly I heard that Fajar was doing the Bodyjam® Last Class. The idea was from Fitness First Pluit Village members requested him to come and teach with Anthony. I WANT!! I check my schedule and YES! At the very end of April – 30th April 2012 is Monday. I have a class. I contact Fajar and Maria (The GXM) for the Special Class with Fajar. She approved and Fajar agreed.
I’d like to make something for him, Just a few day before Monday. I browsed the facebook to secretly download his photo. I’ll draw an illustration for him. Always a great challenge to draw face. Feel worry if the drawing is not look the same like the model/photo. I try my best to scratch and shade it. Voila! I think it’s good. Then the next challenge is the body. I’m not good at it. Actually I’d like to make him jumps or some dynamic move, failed 😦 . Then end up just standing + pose with our Bodyjam™ jacket and holding a cupcake. Why cupcake? Fajar has started a business, “GUILTY PLEASURE – It’s sinfully delicious!“. He bakes and makes cupcakes and cakes. I’ve tried the cookies, It’s delicious! This is the progress of my gift. I have some friends to discuss when I’m working on this gift, Thank you for Debby, Astrid and Rudi who give me the critics and data that I need.. *hugs
The Final Result
After finish, print and put it in the white frame. Hopefully, He’ll like it.
