Home 2015 – Chinese New Year 2015 (Part II)

My holiday continue! Still at Medan and will go back to my hometown today. Buy first a little bit culianary for breakfast. My mom took me to have breakfast at infamous AKHUN Mie Pangsit, unfortunately it’s full so we moved to another place. I can’t remember the place name but it serves Hokkien Mie. Hokkien is like a Chinese Tribe or race, Mie is noodle. The Hokkien Mie has alot of ingredients – pork, meat roll, prawns, fish meatballs, prawn meatballs, egg etc. Seem busy but it tastes good. Various taste in one big bowl and I love it. The price also affordable. I think I will come again.

Our tummies are full! My mom took me to tarditional wet market to buy some stuffs for Chinese New Year Eve dinner. After she finished do her stuffs. We’re back to our hometown, Kisaran. My sisters will go back at Chinese New Year Eve.  So it’s only me and my mom (+driver) will travel for 3-4 hours to Kisaran. But lucky the traffic was smooth enough so we arrived just in time.

Meet my brother – Ben, his wife – Dewi and my cute nephew – Owen. We had dinner at one nice cafe in Kisaran – The Ritz. My family have plan to develop a Cafe business in our home. So we’re kinda look like study this cafe and also we talked about life and future, discuss and argue. Family quality discussion. Hopefully all goes well.

My nephew is going 2 this year!! Ahh I miss him so much. I bought him a gift – car toys. He seems to like it but I heard my mom that he loves to play stacking Pop Mie. Pop Mie is an instant noodle in Cup Package. He loves to stacked it high then let it fall down. Very noisy but he always laugh and happy.

I also amazed he can recognize me although we seldom meet. I’m happy and proud of it. Hahaha..

Below photo is the look of the cafe in our home. I think it looks good just need a little bit work of light, air circulation and some.decorations. My brother asked me to design the menu. I feel glad to help him 🙂

We need a lot of support to develop our cafe. I wish everything goes well, we can serve delicious food and beverages, nice atmosphere to hang out with family and friends. It’s gonna be wonderful if we can achieve it together.

Home 2015 – Chinese New Year (Part I)

This year I took a lot of annual leave for going back to my hometown to celebrate Chinese New Year with my family. I took 7 days starts from 14th to 21st February 2015. It’s going to be very exciting.. I miss my family, nephew and the local foods.

I didn’t sleep because I’m afraid I will oversleep.. I’m taking the early flight at 8.00 am using Lion Air. Delayed for 30 mins. Then depart and arrived at Kualanamu and meet my mom there. It’s feel amazing to her again. Mwah!

We went to Medan. Picked up my sisters, Wie and Min, then we’re having lunch at one of my favorite restaurant. It serves delicious chinese foods – Babi Hong (Steamed Pork) is my most favorite, Meat Roll, Garlic Kailan, etc. I ate a lot.

Next, we went shopping at Brastagi Store. This is my mom favorite place to buy stuffs and fruits. I love store has display various Chinese New Year decorations and lanterns. All seems red and very oriental.

We’re going out all day long. The night is coming. We stopped and rest, having dinner at Little Melaka Restaurant in Centre Point Mall. Quite nice place and foods.

These are our food! Seem yummy? Hehe 🙂

A Boy in Singapore (Part I)

I’ve been to Singapore when I was a little boy with my dad, mom and brother. I still remember we went to Sentosa, Underwater World, Jurong Birdpark and went to Disney Fest! And Singapore always looks great when It’s Christmas time, they will decorate the whole city with Christmas decorations and atmosphere. I think I was in primary school that time. That was a very good time, but feeling a little bit blurred too. And I wish I can go to Singapore again.

Well.. it happens.. the story is like this.. Les Mills Quarterly Workshop III/2013 was not available in Indonesia. At the first time, I just thought to register and ask to hand over my BODYJAM™ 66 & SH’BAM™ 13 DVD to any Fitness First Indonesia Instructors who visit there. Voila!

Who knows my plan can change.. Evelyn “Junki” Widjaja is my friend, member and upcoming future BODYJAM™ Instructor who now is living at Singapore for her Design study/college. She really want Indonesia instructors to come for workshop there and meet her. Jasheline ‘Jesse’ Kho is her close friend, and also my friend, member and a SH’BAM™ Instructor who will definitely go to Singapore for workshop. Junki is very happy to hear that. Jesse also ask me to go. I’m in doubt. They’re keep asking me to go.

Oh well.. then I tried to asked my manager when she was in a good mood. We negotiate about the date and BOOM! .. I allowed to go on August 18th – 21th 2013, YAY!! Hmm 4 days 3 nights.. not bad. Then I told Junki that I can go, she’s happy, same as Jesse! After that I asked Jesse to help me to buy the ticket because I don’t have credit card. But she already bought it on August 18th – 20th 2013.. akh! Miss 1 day. But the show must go on.. Jesse will go back to Jakarta a day before me. But actually she wanted to extend the date but it will be charged a lot. She also helped me to buy SGD, haha.. thanks Jesse.. you helped me a lot!

It’s done! We will go to Singapore together. It’s gonna be SUPER FUN. We also have planned the destination/itinerary where to go and what to do. My travelling rules are EAT, PLAY, PHOTO! (well close enough like “Eat, Pray, Love”). Shopping is the last list. Ahhh.. so happy! I told Junki that I wanna go to Universal Studio Singapore (USS), SEA Aquarium, Garden by the Bay and Singapore Zoo. We will squish them all in 4 days 3 nights trip in Singapore. I’m so excited although it’s gonna be my 2nd time to Singapore but I feel it’s like my 1st time. Feel like a little boy with a new toy!

Preparation for the trip at Singapore.

Singapore Travel Journal

Like always.. before the trip.. I will write down all the things that I need on my new (cute) travel journal (always love this) for travelling to make sure everything is packed! Some references can be seen on my previous post so it’s easier to do it now.

A Boy in Barcelona (Part I)

Hatyai – South Thailand is the most distant overseas trip I ever experienced. And now I’m receiving a call from my brother, Ben. “Ko, You wanna go Barcelona ?” He asked. I can’t believe what I’ve just heard, seriously? How ?? Like a dream..This Barcelona trip is from Prudential Insurance.  He said that our late father has achieved the PRUflyer points more than 300 points. For those who achieve this point will get a FREE trip to Barcelona at May 2013 for a PRUflyer or  a non-Prudential agent. My brother can’t go because he’s an agent and waiting for his wife to giving birth in April. And I just WOW! Really ?? I still can’t believe it. And of course I answer YES. It’s Barcelona – It’s SPAIN – It’s EUROPE!! OMG so FARRR…

It’s a FREE trip but it has a lot of procedures, registrations and documents to be complete. It’s kinda exhausted. But have to! From the Prudential office at Kota Kasablanka to the Panorama Tour office. I feel so glad when It’s all finish.. I just need to pay for the VISA, but still a little bit worried if it’s rejected, but the Panorama Tour said that I don’t have to worry, because I’m with Prudential. huff..

Yup! The date is set. I’m with Star Club 2013 – Batch B: May 5th – May 11th 2013. I’m so excited and also nervous.. First time alone with Prudential agents that I don’t know in a faraway country. Oh well..Just enjoy!! There always something first in life. It’s gonna be OK!

And I’m so nervous to prepare and making list for my packing stuff. Make sure every things I need to be well prepared. I made a long list what to bring with a little doodles..(cute). I think this is gonna be useful in the future if someday I’ll go travelling again.. or maybe you can remind me what’s missing?

To summary: Primary items to bring – The most important things of course the money, passport + visa, ticket. Camera is the greatest equipment to capture every moments, I bought SONY DSC RX-100 for this moment, It’s a great camera. Phone to keep in touch with family and friends, but I need Wi-Fi service.. Bring my best shirt to wear, so it can help us look nice in the pictures, hahaha… Toiletries might be optional because sometime you can use toiletries in the hotel..

I love to bring a journal book to write down what I felt, what I ate, what I experienced, where I went into doodle and story.. and also put some little flyer into it. I found this special journal book in the book store, quite expensive, but It was really a nice book.

I cherish the memory and it’s precious for me. 🙂

We went to some booth and bought ICE WATCH, hehe cheap! I regret I didn’t buy a lot, just Red and Pink. Next time, I’ll bought RAINBOW colors! Anthony bought some clothes for his staffs. It’s very hot and we tried another drink called KIM SOYA BEAN, quite nice.. but still air mata kucing and tembikai lychee are my favorite!

The item prices are quite cheap. We met Ririe and Sandy first when we shopping at a store. Then we’re all gathered. We’re shopping together, from clothes, souvenirs and food. Having lunch at Food Court and Nandos. Time is ticking fast.. and it’s time to go.. T^T

We separated in group. Sherline followed the other group and giving them a hugs. When she came back, She’s crying. Oww.. Is she so lonely ? Hope the best for her. Cheer up!! I think she’s really happy when we’re all came here at KL and stick together. Abang took me to KL Central, It’s the first time I’m gonna use bus to go to LCTT airport by my own.. worry-worry. A few day later, my mom said she wanna come along too. That would be great. They’re coming at 24th January 2013 to Jakarta and stay at 4th Aunt’s house. I had a tuition to attend so I can’t join with them. After finish the tuition I contacted them and asked them whether they’re going somewhere near my position. Then we decided to go to Grand Indonesia, that’s my intention. I wanna bring them to Magnum Cafe – usually have to queue for 1 – 2 hours to enter this cafe. They have to go to some unique places here. I’m queing and waiting for them to come. They will come along with 1st Aunt, 4th Aunt and cousin, Min-min. Finally they arrived and we entered the cafe. We ordered the spaghetti, Fish in the basket and Red Jewel Ice Cream by Magnum. The elders seem not really like the western foods. Ha..ha..

A Boy in Malaysia (Part I)

I’ve been to Malaysia when I was a kid (maybe 11 year old) with my family, I remember we went to Kuala Lumpur (KL) & Genting, kinda forget about the memories/moments of this trip. The 2nd time was in  the high school study tour from Penang to Malaka then KL. The 3rd time was with my sisters in Penang then Hatyai (Thailand) after I finish my college. All was fun and well organized. I wish I can go there again by myself.

From the last Les Mills Quarterly Workshop (QWS) II – 2012 in Jakarta, the presenters announced that Gandalf Archer (G), the Bodyjam® Program Director will come to Asia for QWS III – 2012. He will go to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Singapore and Manila (Philippine). Too bad he’s not going to Jakarta 😦 . So I decided to go to KL! This time on my own.

Had a little hard time to prepare, like asking for office leave for about a week, then searching the best price for the ticket. Then this is it! I bought Tiger Airway ticket, the date August 23rd  – 28th, 2012! Yay !! It’s gonna be super fun! Great QWS with G! and also gonna meet my 2 brothers from KL, Michael Wong (Koko) & Osman Sany (Abang), they’re a very good friends of mine and very kind. We knew each other because of Fitness First background and we’ve traveled together at Bandung 2-3 years ago. That was fun.

I told Abang that I’ll go to KL for QWS III, he’s happy. Then he suggested me to make something for G, “How about you design a T shirt?” yay! That’s a great idea! Then we collaborate together to create a nice design for the T-shirt. Need some progress to make it easy to print, affordable and better. And Voila!

  • Earlier Concept – Brainstorming idea
  • OM’G’ Concept Abang gave the concept/idea
  • Advance OM’G’ Conceptnice multi color but harder to print on shirt and expensive cost
  • FINAL

Abang gonna produce the OM’G’ T shirt for members/participants. He will produce 2 type of shirt – Cotton for only RM 30 and Dry Fit for only RM 35. We hope they gonna wear it at QWS III – 2012 or OM’G’ Party. Abang said the sales is like selling HOT CAKES! SOLD OUT !!

One day, I saw on Abang’s facebook photo, there’s an event poster. OM’G’ Party that will be held at August 28th, 2012 – Tuesday. It’s G’s party in the Neverland club! It’s gonna be super awesome… Ahh my trip’s date end exactly on that day. NOOOO!!! I wanna join the party. Abang asked me to extend the trip/date, he also will extend his leave. All right!!! I extend my date with an extra exchange fee, no regret! I want! I want! My trip’s date exchange into August 23rd – 31st, 2012 (9 days!!!!), my boss’s gonna kill me..

Can’t wait…
